Privacy
Shelvo works on your Mac and keeps your screenshots there.
Short version: we don't collect your screenshots, read them, or know what's in them.
What stays on your Mac
- Your screenshots, their titles and folders.
- The text Shelvo reads from them. Recognition uses Apple's Vision framework on your Mac.
- Shelvo's search index, kept in
~/Library/Containers/com.sanggwonjang.Shelvo. Deleting the app's data deletes it.
When Shelvo uses the network
Only in these two cases:
- Update checks. Shelvo downloads
https://shelvoapp.com/appcast.xmlto see if a newer version exists, and downloads the update if you accept it. The request carries the normal details any web request does (your IP address and the app's version in the user agent). Shelvo doesn't send a system profile. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings. - License activation and checks. When you enter a license, Shelvo sends the license key and your Mac's name to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy (
api.lemonsqueezy.com), to activate it. About once a week it sends the key and that activation's ID to check the license is still valid, and when you choose Remove License it sends them again to free the activation. Nothing about your screenshots is sent: not the images, their text, titles or file names. Until you enter a license, Shelvo makes no license requests at all.
What we don't do
- No analytics, crash reporting or tracking in the app.
- No accounts.
- No cookies, analytics or third-party scripts on this website.
Buying
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and merchant of record, which receives what it needs to take the payment and send your receipt (such as your email address and payment details). We never see your card number.
Website hosting
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to serve and protect the site.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
